LONDON (MNI) – Capital issuance fell back in April from the local
peak in March, according to data issued by the Bank of England Friday.
Total capital issuance by UK residents in April fell to stg51.64
billion from stg55.948 billion in March. April saw the second highest
issuance this year, while the March outturn was the highest since
October 2010, and the second highest since November 2009.
In its May Inflation Report the Bank of England highlighted the
continuing low levels of net corporate finance. It said overall net
external finance raised by private non-financial corporations “has been
persistently weak since early 2009″, with companies having cut back on
capital expenditure and some companies repurchasing equity.
