Comments by UK prime minister spokesman, James Slack

  • Government is working intensively to resolve Irish backstop
  • Raab is to update Cabinet weekly on Brexit deal, no-deal scenarios
  • Reaching a Brexit deal is still the most likely outcome
  • Continues to believe that UK can secure a deal that all lawmakers can support

Slack is also saying that preparations around a no-deal scenario is essential right now. That basically underscores how "well" negotiations are going between the UK and the EU. We're reaching a crucial stage in Brexit talks now and with Theresa May having to deal with domestic political pressures, it's certainly not helping.
