rose 0.1%. Core prices were led by price gains for medical care (+0.2%),
shelter (+0.1%), rent (+0.2%), and airfares (+3.3%). On the downside,
recreation fell 0.2%, communication -0.1%, household furnishings
(-0.1%), while used cars and trucks -0.1%. The index for new vehicles
was unchanged. The year/year pace of overall CPI stands at +1.5%, core
