Initial jobless claims for the week ending July 4:
- Highest since Feb
- Prior was 281K (revised to 282K)
- Continuing claims 2334K vs 2250K exp
Poor initial jobless claims but I suspect the US holiday was the culprit.
Update: Some economists are saying that auto plant retooling is to blame. The US dollar had a momentary dip but it's back where it was, save for a bit of strength in commodity FX.
