–September Permits Originally Reported -5.0% To 594K Unit Rate
WASHINGTON (MNI) – The number of U.S. building permits issued in
September was revised down to a decrease of 5.8% to a 589,000 unit
annual rate, the Commerce Department’s Bureau of the Census said
Thursday.
Permits issued were originally reported down 5.0% to a 594,000
unit rate.
The Census Bureau revises the latest building permits data on the
18th working day of the month, three to seven days after the release of
the preliminary estimate in the month housing starts and building
permits report.
Permits for single-family homes were revised lower to a decline of
1.2% at a 413,000 unit rate (previously down 0.2% at a 417,000 unit
rate). Permits for multi-unit buildings were revised down to a decline
of 15.0% at a 176,000 unit rate (previously down 14.5% at a 177,000 unit
rate.)
