Short covering cited as a big driver of the USD/offshore yuan (USD/CNH amongst friends) gains

Broader USD strength is being seen now too ... nothing huge but AUD, CHF, AUR, yen ... all lower (NZD has been softish all day, same link for more). CAD is down a few points against the USD in the past half hours so also ... again nothing large.
Gold, ditto ...

ICYMI, the USD strengthened during US trade, so some continuation being seen now... but I really should say again ... nothing huge. Small moves only (NZD and CNH excepted)
