White House economic adviser Hassett is speaking on Fox Business after the GDP, says:
- stock market should end higher given the economy
Meanwhile OMB Mulvaney is saying:
- We are surprised that the Federal Reserve are hiking rates as we see growth without much inflation
- The fundamentals are there for a sustainable growth
- Revenues are up and are seeing long term trends up but the spending side is what is driving the deficit.
- Pres. wants to get discretionary spending under control
- Capital investment is a long term payoff, that is why we expect sustainable growth
- By encouraging business to reinvest in themselves
- Businesses are investing in themselves which is a long term engine for growth.
