The messenger is shot. Everyone is fired.

This is getting out of hand.

Shortly after Rex Tillerson was fired, the State Department released a statement. That said this:

The Secretary had every intention of staying because of the critical progress made in national security. He will miss his colleagues at the Department of State and the foreign ministers he has worked with throughout the world.

The Secretary did not speak to the President and is unaware of the reason, but he is grateful for the opportunity to serve, and still believes strongly that public service is a noble calling.

We wish Secretary Designate Pompeo well.

Shortly afterwards it was revealed that Tillerson learned of his dismissal via Trump's tweet.

The statement doesn't cast the White House in a positive light and they were quick to act. The statement was released by Steve Goldstein, the undersecretary of state for public diplomacy and public affairs, at the State Department.

He was just fired, according to the AP.

Meanwhile, stock markets don't like the report from the New York Times that more personnel changes are coming at the White House this week. Place your bets.
