That's a rough reading as UK retail sales plunged in November, with stores bracing for a difficult December amid the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. Expectations for sales in the coming month also fell to -21 from -9 a month ago and that is the lowest reading since March 2021. That is just another sign that the economic headwinds are intensifying going into the turn of the year.
