Still working through the holiday
The GBP is the strongest and the USD is the weakest as the North American session begins. We are still in the midst of holiday trading (may not be normal until next week). That can lead to illiquid trading conditions. Below is a snap shot of the % changes for the major currencies vs each other.
The ranges and changes are ok relatively. The GBPUSD is mostly higher but the GBPJPY and the GBPCHF gains are more contained. For the USD, apart from the EURUSD which is nearer the low of the range, the USD is nearer the low for the day.
In other markets:
- Spot gold si up $1.94 at $1512.49
- WTI crude oil is up $0.38 at $62.09. The high extended to $62.18.
