Public satisfaction with the Bank of England has fallen to the lowest since 1999, when the survey was started.

I would wager polls would give similar results in Japan and the United States.

The problem, is I see it, is that central banks can only do so much and we’re near that limit. Meanwhile, politicians are out of ideas and are cowardly shifting the blame.

It’s truly a sad state of affairs because central banks are one of the very few institutions that have (had?) any public respect.
