Stanley Fischer is former Vice Chairman of the Federal Reserve. He spoke with media over the weekend and made the bold prediction:
- Trump won't renominate Powell for another term as the Fed's chair if re-elected
"That will lead to very different monetary policy, so the Fed is not fully independent of politics"
Huh. Powell became chair in Feb of 2018, a four year term. So I guess we pencil this in our diaries for 2022? Anyone got a diary for 2022 yet?
