A quick preview look ahead for Reserve Bank of Australia on Tuesday 16 November 2015
At 8.30 local Sydney time (2130GMT), RBA Assistant Governor (Economic) Christopher Kent, is speaking at UBS's Australasia Conference 2015
- I'll be listening to Kent's views on the economy (he is head of the economic analysis area of the bank) and noticing what it is he (and, presumably, the bank( is paying closest attention to for their monetary policy outlook
At 11.30 Sydney time (0130GMT) we get the RBA Board Minutes for November
I posted on the decision (no change) on the day of the announcement:
- RBA statement: Australian dollar is adjusting to lower commodity prices
- RBA's Statement on Monetary Policy - analyst response
- Comparing the RBA October and November statements
- RBA Statement today ... "What does it all mean?"
I'll be looking for any further clues to the RBA thinking in the Minutes. But ... the next meeting is December 1 and I am not expecting any policy change. Then, there is no January meeting, February 1 is the first of 2016. So, while I'll be looking at the Minutes for more on the bank's thinking, I reckon I'll be saving a bit of energy to apply in the new year to it.
