Francois Villeroy de Galhau has been nominated to replace Christian Noyer as head of the French central bank.
- Noyer resigns as head of the Banque de France at the end of October
- Villeroy de Galhau is an ex BNP banker
- Around 150 economists, academics have protested this potential appointment
- Confirmation hearings are on September 29
I agree.
This is outrageous.
Why can't they appoint an ex-Goldman Sachs banker like everyone else does?

Note; the head of the Banque de France also sits on the European Central Bank's rate-setting council
