Leaders in European Parliament have agreed to reject Yves Mersch’s candidacy for an ECB executive board position.
Earlier today, Mersch’s hearing was set for Oct. 22 but it sounds like that has been thrown out the window.
It’s all due to a controversy about no women being considered for the job (should have changed his name to Eve instead). The FT has more of the background.
