In a nutshell a measure of core inflation
Comes in at 1.7% y/y for the quarter
- unchanged from the previous quarter
Earlier on we got headline inflation, showing 1.9% y/y.
As discussed (here) a lot of that was driven by fuel prices rising, which is not a core component … so this measure coming in under the headline will not be a surprise.
