AUD/USD falls to the lows of the day
The Australian dollar remains a standout performer today but is starting to wilt.
AUD/USD just touched off the lows for the day as it chews into the opening gap. So far it's a modest 'break' and it's rebounded back to 0.7350.
Given all the excitement on the weekend and the drama around the Trump-Xi meeting, markets have fallen a bit flat. They're still positive but I don't think this kind of gain is going to drag anyone in off the sidelines.
Technically, a fall into the gap is a sign of closing a gap. The RBA meeting is also coming up later so there will be plenty for AUD traders to mull over in the day ahead.
