The Challenger reports on corporate layoffs. Job cuts have nearly matched last years figures at 347k from 352k in 2012.
Manufacturing had the biggest cuts of 22k, the biggest since Jan 2009.
It’s not a market mover but it is worth noting the numbers. They can also be skewed slightly as layoffs don’t necessarily lead to actual job losses. Companies can announce layoffs for the future.
