Australian Industry Group Performance of Manufacturing Index
- New orders had a big jump, up 4.7 points m/m
- Employment also, up 8.6 points m/m (to its highest since December of 2014)
- Sales +6.5 points on the month, highest since September f 2009
- Inventories down 1.4 points
Export orders up 9.6 points on the month to their highest since March of 2008
If this data point attracts any interest at all its likely to be 'explanations' as to why its wrong. Its not just an Australian thing, but bad news is accepted at face value while good news is subjected to some of the most cruel & inhumane forms of data torture that can be imagined.
Solid data is a narrative violation, and the chattering types will not tolerate it.
