LONDON (MNI) – Cover at the Bank of England’s 10-25 year reverse
gilt auction Wednesday, the second of 2012, came in at 1.8.
In Tuesday’s auction the BOE got 2.45 cover in its 3-10 year
auction. The auctions that have tended to see the lowest cover ratios
have been the over 25 year range.
The BOE is currently completing the purchase of Stg75 billion of
asset purchases under its quantitative easing programme – scheduled to
end a week ahead of its Feb 8 and 9 meeting.
