LONDON (MNI) – Cover at the Bank of England’s over 25-year reverse
gilt auction Tuesday came in at a robust 2.43.

The over 25-year maturity range potentially poses supply problems
for the central bank, with banks and pension funds holding these
maturities for capital and liability matching purposes. The previous
over 25 year auction also saw cover over two.

The BOE accepted offers for all the Gilts in the auction with the
exception of the 4.25% 2046 Gilt.
