BOE Monetary Policy Committee member Kate Barker tells a British newspaper that she sees the UK economic performance in the first half of the year as being “patchy” while she is more optimistic for the outlook in the second half of the year.

She expects to see GDP grow in Q4 of 2009.

Cable maintains a very firm bid after heavy selling of EUR/GBP this morning. Not sure if the Greek jitters are at work as far as that trade is concerned…
