Says Sir Martin Sorrell, CEO of WPP in today’s Telegraph

He said that the possibility of a referendum as far away as 2018 would add to a lack of confidence among businesses and could act as a drag on investment decisions.

“The fifth grey swan is the EU and Britain,” Sir Martin said at the WEF annual meeting in Davos. “Having a referendum sometime between 2015 and 2018 adds to uncertainty and we don’t need that.

“If I am looking at it from the point of view of WPP it is not good news. It is at least neutral, it is at worst negative. It can’t be positive.

“You’ve just added another reason why people will postpone investment decisions.”
