Retail sales is the big one to watch
The Canadian calendar is empty on Friday but there will be non-stop US data points and news to close out the week starting with retail sales.
1230 GMT - retail sales (control group expected +0.4% m/m)
1230 GMT - import/export price index
1300 GMT - Fed's Evans
1315 GMT - Industrial production
1400 GMT - Business inventories, Fed's Rosengren, U Mich sentiment
1700 GMT - Baker Hughes
For retail sales, auto sales were on the soft side so that's a downside risk on the headline. For the control group, estimates range from +0.2% to +0.8%. The high end is from Ian Shepherdson, who is a great economist so watch for strength.
