Canada manufacturing sales for November 2019
- Manufacuring sales for November down -0.6% versus -0.5% estimate
- The prior month was revised higher to -0.2% from -0.7% previously reported
- sales ex auto's -1.2% versus 0.6% last month (revised from 0.0%)
- unfilled orders +0.1% versus -1.3% last month (revised up from -1.5%)
- new orders +1.9% versus -4.2% last month (revised from -4.9%)
- inventory/sales ratio 1.54 versus 1.52 last month. (Revised from 1.54)
- the largest upside contributor to monthly change was the transportation equipment category which rose 0.84%
- the largest downside contributor was primary medical category which fell -0.77%
The headline number was weaker than expectations but the prior month data was largely revised higher.
