Sounds like the phone lines between Athens, Brussels and other world capitals were burning up this morning ahead of the public announcement that Greece is seeking “consultations” with the EU on a multi-year economic plan, a precursor to triggering the aid mechanism.
Middle Eastern and Asian central banks were big sellers this morning. Perhaps this was just fortuitous timing on their part, or maybe they got the proverbial “wink” from sources inside the EU…
