Ever since the Caixin 'flash' Manufacturing PMI was discontinued the search has been on for other early monthly indicators of China's economy.
One such indicator was the Minxin PMI, produced by the China Academy of New Supply-side Economics, a think tank funded by China Minsheng Banking Corp.
- It surveys around 4,000 companies across mainland China
- Whereas Markit/Caixin tracks around 420 companies concentrated near the coast
