- Ford, General Motors and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles announced they'd shut down shut US, Canada, and Mexico factories
- GM & Ford are to close all North American plants after Thursday evening, through to March 30 Fiat to March 31)
- Hyundai closed its Alabama assembly plant
- Toyota will close its North American plants for two days next week
- Honda will shut its North American factories for six days
