Dallas Fed trimmed mean PCE price index 1.5% in Aug vs 2.0% in July

Core inflation slows in August

The Dallas Fed's measure of core inflation cooled in August at a 1.5% annualized rate compared to 2.0% in July. That's the second dip in a row after a 2.4% reading in June.

Headline inflation was also weak at a 1.3% rate compared to 1.6% in July.
