LONDON (MNI) – David Miles has been re-appointed for a second term
as a member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee, the
Treasury announced Tuesday.
Miles first, three year term of appointment was set to end on 31
May 2012 and it was announced in parliament that he will serve a second
term.
Miles has voted in line with his colleagues through the re-launch
of quantitative easing, in October, and the subsequent policy pause.
“The Chancellor has decided to re-appoint David Miles, an external
member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England,” Chief
Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander told parliament.
