LONDON (MNI) – UK house prices rose by 0.5% on the month in
December and by 3.8% on December 2009, the Department of
Communities and Local Government said today.

The DCLG said that UK house prices fell by 0.4% in the quarter
ending December 2010 compared with a rise of 0.2% for the quarter
ending in September 2010.

The DCLG data provide a more definitive idea of the direction of
house prices and the latest report confirms that house prices do appear
to have enjoyed growth of around double digits in the last year.
