FRANKFURT (MNI) – The Bundesbank will speak its mind even if this
is not always welcomed by markets, Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann
told German weekly Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung over the
weekend.

“If we as the Bundesbank have an opinion, then we will express it.
It cannot always be all about calming markets,” Weidmann said.

The Bundesbank has been widely criticised for publicly criticizing
some of the European Central Bank’s non-standard measures, sparking
speculation about a rift among policymakers on the ECB’s Governing
Council.
