Two items on the agenda from Australia today for data:
2230GMT - Australian Industry Group Performance of Construction Index (AiG Construction PMI) for November. October was 52.1
- We've had the manufacturing (5th consecutive expansion in November) and services (second consecutive month in contraction) PMIs already this month
0030GMT - ANZ Job Advertisements for November, prior was +0.4% for an improving job ads trend. Its curious that demand for labour in service industries is experiencing strong demand and yet the services PMI has dipped below the 50 level (50 separates 'expansion' from 'contraction'). Employment indicators are often said to be 'lagging', if this is the case here then some slowing in the jobs growth will come in 2016. The jobs ads data today is unlikely to have a sharp impact on the AUD, but is something to watch nevertheless.
AUD is currently around 0.7340, unchanged from the early indications I popped up a little while back this morning here.
