BRUSSELS (MNI) – Greece and its bailout partners have made
substantial progress in talks over a vital E31.5 billion aid tranche,
but a few issues still remain to be resolved, a spokesman for the
European Commission said on Thursday.
“We have made substantial progress over the last few days but a few
questions remain before we can conclude a technical agreement between
the Troika and Greek authorities,” a spokesman told journalists at a
regular briefing.
Greek officials have warned that the government will run out of
money before the end of November and are working hard with inspectors
from the European Commission, International Monetary Fund and European
Central Bank to finalise agreement on measures and targets Athens must
meet in return for aid, before Eurozone finance ministers meet on
November 12.
