BRUSSELS (MNI) – The European Commission Tuesday said it wouldn’t
comment on reports that Greece wants to change the terms of an aid deal
struck by European leaders last month.

“I am not aware of any public statements of this nature,” Amelia
Torres, a European Commission spokesperson said, adding that the
Commission doesn’t comment on press articles and speculation.

Market News International reported late Sunday that Greece’s
government wants to amend the aid deal struck by Eurozone leaders at the
EU summit late last month.

The deal, which said bilateral Eurozone loans and IMF aid would be
offered to Greece if needed, has worried Greek policymakers, who fear
that the IMF will impose intolerably stringent conditionality on them,
if they accept any help.
