France bucks the trend and moves into expansion
We have the main Eurozone retail sales numbers out for September at 10.00 GMT so lets go back a month on the PMI's to see how they performed
- Eurozone 51.9 vs 51.4 in Aug
- Germany 54.0 vs 54.7 prior
- France 49.6 vs 49.5 prior
- Italy 51.7 vs 48.7 prior
Germany posted the only loss there and their main sales were flat in Sep. With retail sales expected in at 0.2% vs 0.0% m/m in August (3.0% exp vs 2.3% prior y/y) the PMI's don't suggest that we will come in much different to what's expected. You never know though as they can be volatile
