European stock indices end with impressive gains

UK FTSE lags but still higher.

  • Spain's Ibex up 1.8%
  • Italy's FTSE MIB up 2.77%
  • Portugal's PSI 20 of 1.54%
10 year note yields are Lower
  • Germany 0.434%, -1 basis point
  • France 0.77%, -1.0 basis points
  • UK 1.234%, up 2.1 basis points
  • Spain 1.539%, -5.8 basis points
  • Italy 2.01%, -5.8 basis points
  • Portugal 1.915% -7.5 basis points
IN other markets as London/European traders look to exit:
  • Spot gold up $6.34 or 0.48% to $1319.50
  • WTI crude oil futures up $.37 or 0.60% at $61.99
  • US stocks or higher. bit off highs.  S&P up 0.36% or 9.75 points.  NASDAQ up 11 points or 0.16% at 7076.  Dow industrial average cracked in the 25,000 level for the first time today.   It trades up hundred and 31 points or 0.53% at 25,054.50
  • US yields are higher at midday.  Two-year 1.955%, up 2.4 basis points. Five-year 2.274% up 3.0 basis points. Hell 10 year 2.465%, up 1.8 basis points.  30 years 2.796% up 1.1 basis point
In the forex market at the NY midday point (and London close), the NZD is the strongest currency while the JPY remains the weakest.
