Steady as she goes in early trades

US futures are also keeping thereabouts, near flat to holding 0.1% gains as we look to get things going in European morning trade.

In Asia, the Nikkei closes up 0.7% while the Hang Seng is up 1.1% and Shanghai Composite up 0.8% as we get into the closing stages of the session.
