A more positive mood to start the week
- German DAX futures +0.4%
- French CAC 40 futures +0.5%
- UK FTSE futures +0.4%
- Spanish IBEX futures +0.3%
Mainly keeping in tune with what we've seen in Asian trading and from US equity futures, which are up by around 0.4% currently. The mood here is still helping to keep risk currencies underpinned as we begin the morning but just be wary that we've seen gains in Chinese stocks get tempered with in the last half-hour of trading.
The Shanghai Composite manages a close above the 3,000 level but only posted a gain of 1.1% on the day, down from highs when the index was up by ~3% earlier. I reckon it's likely some profit-taking so it shouldn't do much to harm risk sentiment as we begin European trading.
