EUR/USD has given up about a big figure in double quick time, presently down at 1.3460. The euro has been pressured by Steinbruek’s comment that the euro would be under threat if the EU’s Stability and Growth Pact is not taken seriously.
Other official comments from various sources, suggesting the dollar’s reserve currency status isn’t under threat, have also weighed on the EUR/USD pairing.
