It seems the strong opening on the Shanghai bourse has shaken some EUR/USD buyers out of the woodwork and it has quickly jumped 30 pips after being motionless for most of the morning.
China was a large seller overnight near the highs and they are presumably defending a barrier option at 1.4000.
