Not content to spend only US taxpayers money, the Obama administration wants to spend other countries money too. He proposes massive stimulus from the rest of the G20 but the plan has gotten little buy-in from allies. Geithner also wants to increase the size of his former employer, the IMF, to $500 bln from $50 bln.
Finance ministers meet in London this weekend to lay the groudwork for the G-20 heads-of-state conference (Obama;s debut on the international financial stage) in early April.
