The market has opened very quietly this morning with the majors trading at their NY closing levels in early interbank trade; EUR/USD at 1.3230, USD/JPY at 83.90 and cable at 1.5810.
As Jamie mentioned below, some policy-direction change from Germany but there has been no effect so far on the EUR.
The Australian Treasurer introduced a package of banking measures designed to increase competition. This could affect the Australian stock market this morning which in turn might affect the AUD. At the moment there is no change from Friday’s close with the AUD/USD currently being quoted at .9850.
