According to an article in today's Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung. Bloomberg reporting

  • German govt mulls over skipping balanced budget for 2016
  • fin min Schaeuble may make proposal on 5 Nov

FAS cites unidentified govt sources

  • new debt of €2.5-3.5bln is currently being discussed
  • cost of refugees is unclear

On 28 Oct Handelsblatt reported sources as warning that Schaeuble planned to announce if budget remains balanced and suggested the cost of refugees may reach €10bln next year vs current budget draft accounts of just under €7bln

As recently as 13 Oct though I reported that Schaeuble still had a balanced 2016 budget as their goal

Seems to me, as I've said for a while, that Germany has a lot to consider right now and a few moving goalposts

Is German stability slipping through their hands?
