GERMANY DATA: Germany’s consumer climate is expected to resume its
upward trend in February, the GfK research institute reported Tuesday,
citing a higher propensity to buy versus the previous month and
still-robust economic expectations. After a 0.1-point upward revision in
January to 5.5 points, which matched the December figure, the index is
seen rising to 5.7 in February, the Nuremberg-based research group said.
It is the highest level the index has reached since October 2007, and it
surpassed MNI’s survey median by 0.2 point.
