BERLIN (MNI) – German economic growth this year could be larger
than the 2.3% forecast by the government last month, Economics Minister
Rainer Bruederle said in a newspaper interview published Monday.

“It can be more than that. I’m optimistic,” Bruederle told German
daily Bild Zeitung.

The German Chamber of Industry and Commerce last week forecast
German GDP growth of 3.0% this year. Business sentiment improved broadly
across all sectors this winter, according to a DIHK survey of more than
28,000 companies.
