BERLIN (MNI) – European governments will be able to defend the
euro, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said in a newspaper
interview published Sunday.
“Whoever bets his money against the euro will be unsuccessful,”
Schaeuble told German weekly Bild am Sonntag (BamS).
The Minister reaffirmed that Germany will not agree to an
introduction of Eurobonds in the eurozone, arguing that these would
undermine budget discipline in member states.
