The 7-day incidence rate climbs to 136.4

The lower counts today belie the underlying situation, due to lesser testing over the weekend. There is still some element of catch up to the Easter holiday period from last week, so keep that in mind when interpreting the figures over the next few days.

The 7-day incidence rate climbs from ~129 to 136.4 so that still suggests that the virus is still spreading rather rampantly across the country.

As of Friday, there were 4,515 (+41) virus patients requiring intensive care with there being just 2,912 (12%) intensive care beds still available.

With medical capacity pushed to its limits, don't expect lockdown measures to ease up any time soon. The German federal government has taken over control on responding to the virus crisis, so expect the lockdown to be extended this week beyond 18 April.
