BERLIN (MNI) – German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble will meet
his Spanish counterpart Luis de Guindos on Tuesday evening in Berlin to
discuss the situation of Spain, German finance ministry spokeswoman
Marianne Kothe said Monday.
No press conference is planned after the meeting of the ministers,
Kothe said.
Commenting on today’s rise of Spanish bond yields, Kothe said:
“We’re of the opinion that that the program [of aid for the banking
sector] as it is underway now in Spain will gradually contribute to
calming the markets.”
