The opening salvo from Germany's finance ministry just hitting the wires
Spokesman Frank Paul Weber, not Jaeger as I originally thought/assumed from the headline ( he must have Saturdays off!) has declined to comment on a report in today's Bild that Schaeuble regarded the Greek proposals as "inadequate" and opposed further talks
He added
"The minister will this afternoon discuss the assessment of the institutions with his Eurozone colleagues. The result of the discussion is completely open"
A quick reminder of the countdown this w-e
- Today: Eurozone finance ministers discuss plans (Brussels 13:00 GMT)
- Tomorrow: Eurogroup leaders meet (14:00 GMT) followed by summit of all 28 members of the European Union (16:00 GMT). Both in Brussels
- 20 July: €3bn payment due from Greece to the European Central Bank
